INDUSTRIAL TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANCE PROGRAM: ITAP
ITAP is a program to provide service on research and development to industrial sector as well as elevate production technology. Its main mission is to create a mechanism to connect technology service providers and technology users by providing the technical specialists in order to assist in research and development, giving advice and solving problem in the factories.
NSTDA will support 50% of the expense on specialist employment but not exceeding the maximum limit of 400,000 Baht. It is considered as the initial strategy to reduce the risk on investment of business operator in order to develop production technology and elevate the competency of Thai industry’s research and development, resulting in increasing the sustainably competitive potential in global market.
Objectives
The primary objective of the ITAP is to facilitate Thailand’s economic growth to encourage the creation of technological innovations as the competency enhancement in the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs)’ technology. The following is ITAP’s primary objectives in the overview;
- To encourage and facilitate the SMEs’ technological competency;
- To provide innovation-related knowledge for the SMEs;
- To promote the establishment of SMEs national network as the essential driving force behind the country’s technological development;
- To support the Thai experts as the vital technology establisher for the SMEs;
- Urge the SMEs’ international contacts to expand the opportunities in seeking new technological development-related knowledge.
ITAP’s Three Main Missions
- Enhance the SMEs’ competency in technology as well as to promote more innovations and exports;
- Promote the Enterprises’ Industrial Cluster by bringing together the industries located in the vicinity of educational and research institutions and the state agencies providing services for the SMEs;
- Facilitate the transfer of technology integrating both domestic and international studies and technological innovations as well as the inventions to inspire new manufacturing processes or commercial products in the market.
SERVICE OF ITAP
- Analyse technical problem and business development guideline by ITA and specialist.
- Solve problem by ITA or recruited technical specialist as required by customer.
- Organize training and seminar, coordinate with specialist and recruit project consultant.
- Follow up and evaluate the performance of specialist and project consultant to meet the requirement of urgent industry.
CONDITIONS OF ITAP SUPPORT
- A juristic person with Thai shareholders not less than 51%.
- Small or medium business with registered capital not exceeding 200 million Baht.
- Large business can obtain the support subject to the discretion.
- Have financial, technical and management competency.
- Have intention to develop the potential of production technology.
